ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS
Because we believe proper diversification1 is one of the keys to prospering, we consider every option to help grow your wealth. Our experience has shown that alternative investments2, when added to a traditional portfolio, have the potential to mathematically reduce the volatility and enhance the returns of your portfolio3.
Alternative investments give investors access to markets and investment strategies that are generally not easily accessible to individuals. The main types of alternative investments are managed futures, hedge funds, primary and secondary private equity, direct investments, commodities and exchange funds. Alternative investments carry with them specific investor qualifications, which can include income and net-worth requirements as well as relatively high investment minimums. For that reason, they are generally reserved for our most sophisticated and affluent clients.

1 Diversification does not guarantee profit or protect against loss in declining markets
2 Alternative investments and hedge funds are complex investment vehicles which generally have high costs and substantial risks and are not suitable for all investors. They are generally open to qualified investors only and carry high costs, substantial risks, and may be highly volatile. Investments in commodities, futures and managed futures are speculative, involve substantial risk, and are not suitable for all investors.
The high expenses often associated with Alternative investments must be offset by trading profits and other income. They tend to be more volatile than other types of investments and present and increased risk of investment loss. There may also be a lack of transparency as to the underlying assets. Alternative investments are subject to fewer regulatory requirements than mutual funds and other registered investment company products and thus may offer investors fewer legal protections than they would have with more traditional investments. Additionally, there may be no secondary market for alternative investment interests and transferability may be limited or even prohibited. Other risks may apply as well, depending on the specific investment product. Please carefully review the Private Placement Memorandum or other offerings documents for complete information regarding terms, including all applicable fees, as well as risks and other factors you should consider before investing.
